It’s freezing but I will still enjoy my coffee by the lake!

I'm an aspiring UX designer and researcher in EdTech, with a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Information Systems and over six years of experience in education.

As a former ESL and ICT teacher, the most rewarding aspect of my job was finding new and creative ways to engage students by making my lessons fun, meaningful, and relevant. Nothing made my day more than seeing students genuinely excited about their learning and exploring a variety of books across different genres.

While I loved working with students, I'm excited to transition my career out of the classroom to create learning experiences that enable diverse groups of learners to be more successful.

Having grown up in diverse locations around the world and now residing in Canada, I've always been intrigued by people's methods and the motivations behind them, as well as their stories and how these shape their choices, particularly in their use of various digital media. This fascination drew me to the field of UX.

My background in teaching intersects with UX in multiple ways, enabling me to comprehend users better. I am deeply passionate about problem-solving and approach challenges with a thorough understanding of the relevant information. I prioritize conducting extensive research to gain insights from diverse perspectives. Effective communication is essential, and I consistently strive for clarity in all aspects of my work.

In my spare time, I ignite my creativity by indulging in painting and experimenting with various calligraphy styles on canvas.

I also have a passion for watching home DIY videos, dreaming of the day when I can design and construct my ideal family kitchen.

I love baking, and I love sharing this hobby with my children.

At one point, more than 10 years ago, I started a cake business called Nur’s Cupcakery. My specialty was a unique creation—a cupcake bouquet. I believe I was the first to craft and sell this innovative product in our community. It debuted on Mother’s Day and was an immediate success!
